So, it's 24 hours and about 33 minutes before my plane takes off from Portland to San Francisco. I am extremely tired. I haven't slept well, partly from excitement, and partly from staying up so late to get all kinds of things done.
I finished nearly everything, and what hasn't been finished, well, so be it.
You know how, when you meet new people, you want to make a good first impression? Well, when I meet Raja's family for the first time, they will probably think I'm a boxer or something, because I now have a bandaid covering a big gash on the bridge of my nose.
Last night (late) I was in my sitting room, and I went to get my bunny, Nyx, out of his cage so I could clean it. My housemate is going to take care of him for me while I'm gone, and I wanted him to have a fresh cage. No sooner did I reach for him than the heavy lid of the hutch came crashing down right on my face. OUCH!
It was bleeding all over so I applied pressure an went to find a band-aid. Turns out, they were all packed in my luggage. So I finally found one, and put it on the cut. It's really nasty looking under there.
I did clean the cage, but this morning, as I was sleeping through my alarm, I heard something rustling in my room. At first I figured it was Rufus, my housemate's dog, who likes to visit sometimes, but then it jumped on the bed! Nyx had escaped! I let him run around for a bit, then put him back in his cage. I secured it tightly this time.
I'll post this now, but I'll be back later to add pictures.
Right after work today, I leave to drive to Portland. Tonight Raja, the boys, and I are staying at the Holiday Inn near the airport, and then tomorrow at 7:04 a.m., our flight leaves from San Francisco. Wish me Bon Voyage!
By the way, tomorrow at 6:44 a.m. (exactly 24 hours from now), I turn 41. Some people my age hate birthdays and lie about their age, but not me. I love my birthday, and I'm especially looking forward to this one.
In fact, I'm starting the celebration a bit early by bringing cake to school. I figure, we do it for the kids, so why should we ignore the grown-ups? Every day is a good day for cake.
Be good!
